Empathic Mimicry - Opt In, Opt Out Post

Peter has (or will soon have) the ability of Empathic Mimicry. This means that he can essentially copy someone else's ability in the Heroes universe. He doesn't have to touch the other person to do it- instead, he has to share an emotion (confusion, anger, fear, hope, etc) with that person.

In the City, Peter will be able to copy the powers of people who received those powers through genetics. Characters with magical or supernatural abilities won't work for this.

Once he copies a power, it's permanent. He does not automatically know how to use the power, and will likely mess up trying to use it at first. Sometimes they'll just 'start up' without him intending to do anything, or disappear when he's trying to get it to work.

This post is for someone to either request that Peter copies their power, or to tell me that they never want it to come up. If you opt out, I'll never ask you about it. If you want to arrange something, I'd love to set something up! Just let me know here.

You're welcome to copy Airy's, we'd probably have to work out details but I don't know if he'd want that lol... it can be rather destructive, the reason it isn't as destructive as I could be with Airy has to do with her linage and a long back story I had created.

Ooo, interesting. Yeah, I need to read up on Airy's stuff a little more! Peter is, unfortunately, used to being fairly destructive. But it would make sense that he might copy hers, if they're going to be meditating and doing classes together. Do you have a good spot with more information?

I need to write up more information. I have the information but it's all in my head. The legend of the Creator started when the Earth was formed by and inhabited by dragons also known in some cases as dinosaur. They slowly left to a different realm except for a hand few and then people were around and they liked people but people were stupid so they created the Druids and the Creator using their own blood/whatever you want to call it. There is always one Creator and 12 Druids.

This is what I currently have which was written up for the purpose of an old game and is only sorta relevant.

And there is more about it but I'll... start writing all this up.

Ooo, that's really interesting. I think it might be a bit too much to add to Peter's repertoire- plus, from what I'm reading, the Creator is generally female? And if there's usually just one, I don't want to mess with any mythology rules. So I might pass on this and just have them be 'learning to control freaky powers' buddies. They will have plenty on their hands, there, I think.

Sara has three powers (because she is a CRAU and she got them in the last game she was in) that you can have Peter develop if you wish -- and get new CR in the process! \o/

The powers are Canary Cry (aka sonic scream), Canary-shifting (aka she can shapeshift into a canary), and Avian Manipulation (aka she can manipulate some birds to do her bidding and stuff), and I have them described in further detail here.

Oh, lovely! I keep getting the image of Peter meeting and having a conversation with her, or bumping into her on the street, and just suddenly turning into a canary randomly afterwards. XD

Does that sound okay to you? He might pick up the sonic scream too after some time- and considering how terrible his control tends to be, I don't think he'd ever manage Avian manipulation.

Sadly, Fenris' isn't genetic... unless you count awesome night vision, pointy ears, and a general hatred towards all the things.

Now Quentin he'll be able to mimic. He has telepathy and telekinesis. And pink hair. Have fun!

Oh man, I think that first convo was probably enough for Peter to identify with Quentin (throwing yourself at something righteously is something Peter's very familiar with), so he will be...kinda annoyed, actually, to get the telepathy back again. It was never a fun power for him, and he'd never learned to use it past the 'everyone is throwing thoughts at me' stage. But I will be loving it. :3 He will surely ask for tips.
